Discovery
Coaching with me is a process of facilitated inquiry, and through inquiry, discovery.
My job as the coach is to create safety and permission for clients to reflect on their experiences and engage in this process of discovery. As clients share with me their experiences, I listen for the unique combination of skills, capabilities, and talents that make up who they are. I help them both see and articulate these strengths for themselves. They step more fully into what sets them apart. Clients also explore what is truly important and meaningful to them. They can then make choices that marry these values with their abilities for greater impact, and deeper fulfillment.
Action
I support clients in taking courageous action that moves them in the direction of what they want to achieve, in work and in life.
As clients rediscover their unique capabilities and get clear about their values, they start to see new possibilities for themselves. They will be called to make different choices and take new action. That kind of change requires courage. It requires the courage to really look at what is possible and to confront what might be standing in the way. I work with clients to dissolve the old stories that keep them from moving forward and to set up the structures, and accountability, that supports them in making new choices and taking new action.
Transformation
As clients deepen their self-knowledge and take action from that place, they experience an expanded capacity to envision, claim and achieve the impact they want to have in their world.
Through the coaching process, discovery married with action deepens the learning which then generates new action. This is a virtuous cycle that has the client move their life towards greater fulfillment, greater choice, and greater impact. The cycle isn’t always smooth and the path of transformation – the ability to see new possibilities and build the confidence and capacity to go for them – is not linear. However, over time, learning and action work together to create lasting, sustainable change.
